How to prevent Identity theft!
Does anyone remember that guy who advertises for his company by having his social security posted on a bus driving in a busy city, and he said that he is not worry because his information is safe and protected with his company! Guest what someone took his challenge and hack to his company and to his credit account!
In my opinion is better to be safe now, then sorry later!
Make sure you monitor your credit yearlong! You can accomplish that for free!
By login to www.annualcreditreport.com
Make sure to secure your mail by have your mail delivered to you and mailed to you at a post office, and or secured mailbox! If you live in the rural area make sure to get a post office box!
Make sure your social security card and your medical insurance card is stored in somewhere safe! And never carry it with you; also never list your social security number or your medical insurance card anywhere! You can memorize them!
Make sure to put a date to the end of your electronic keypad signatures every time you use it!
Make sure that you know whom you are dealing with! Never ever give any personal information like social security number, date of birth, mother maiden name, home or work address, and home and work telephone numbers over the telephone to anyone.
Make sure your personal address is not on your personal check! Make sure you have your work address and work telephone instead!
Make sure to read and review all your statements, bank, mortgage, and credit cards etc. to make sure that all the charges are your and they are accurate!
Make sure you don't leave a paper trail, i.e. all statements and all solicitations or any mail that have your name and address on it, also remove bar code from your magazine! Don't just throw them away! Anything you leave in your garbage trashcan is an invitation for the garbage divers who I called them garbalogist to steal your information! Therefore please shred, shred, and shred everything!
This is just FYI only,
Thanks.
