You’ve heard the story, maybe you’ve even lived it? Some clown figured out how to hack into your Facebook account and then things got downright nasty, embarrassing and painful . Besides offending and deleting your friends, naked porno pictures were posted. To add insult to injury, you didn’t find out about it until the mushroom cloud cleared. Facebook has added a new Security Setting that fires off an email flare if a new computer or device logs into your Facebook Account. You can also see the history of recent logins and end any suspicious activity. 1. Log into your Facebook account. 2. In the upper right hand corner, click on the Account link. 3. In the drop down box, click Account Settings. 4. When you click on the Account Settings Link, the screen pictured below will appear. Click on the Account Security link, or the Change link to the right. 5. When this screen pops up, set your Facebook Log In notifications and take a look at your Activity Log. This is where you can disconnect someone when your receive a Hacking Clown Alert. You’ll want to log in and change your security settings PRONTO. There you go. Cool right? Good luck with it. It seems Facebook is making efforts to constantly improve our experience and confidence. It’s interesting to note that they can add where we login from (which city) to their universe of our behavioral stuff. I imagine the ads we’re served up when we’re in another town, might be different from ads served up when we’re in town. Hmmmmm. PS. Oh, one last thing, if we’re not friends on Facebook, let’s connect. Click Here to connect with me on my Facebook Profile Page. Click Here to keep up with real estate, sales and persuasion stuff (this is my Facebook Business Page). If you’re a Twitterer, Click Here so we can connect there too. PSS. If I can be helpful, let me know. Ken Brand 832-797-1779. Cheers.I Was Mortified, My Facebook Account Was Hacked, And I Was The Last To Know.

Thanks Lori, I wasn't aware of that group. I've joined and posted, hope it helps prevent the bad guys from being bad guys. Cheers.
What a great tip. Way to often people are hacked and evil things happen on their accounts.
Now this is a tip worth having and doing something before it happens to us.
This is good info worth sharing. I just went into my settings and fixed it so I'm notified. Thanks!
Ken, this post is worth a bookmark. Thanks for the tutorial. I need to check out my Facebook page. Thanks.
Hi Ken - Thanks for advising about the new feature. I'm not sure how this will help if someone has changed the password since you then don't have any access.
Thanks for comments everyone. I hope it help. And Marc, you're right, if someone get's in and changes the password, you're sunk. Hopefully activating this email alert will prevent problems with the casual hacker.
Cheers.
Ken,
Thanks so much. Others had mentioned there was new security setting necessary, but they didn't set it forth as clearly as you did. Have a great weekend!
What a great post, and very helpful! I'll not only be tweeting/facebooking that out on the SentriLock Accounts, I'm going to use that for my personal account as well.
Thanks again for the info, and have a great weekend!
