When I visited Active Rain headquarters in Seattle, Jonathan Washburn came in with his new I-Pad, dressed in a pretty cool little outfit (the I-Pad, that is). Until then, I had resisted the urge to own one, but when I thought it would be so cool to be able to blog anyplace except an airplane, my resolve vanished.
When I got home from the Apple store, new toy in hand, there was a huge oops moment! I couldn't post anything on Active Rain.
I called Jon, the son I forgot to have, and he explained they were working on it, but for now you couldn't write posts or comments on either an I-Pad or I-Phone.
So after a little bit of whining, I sort of gave up - until today.
The Apple Store did a special workshop this morning for Evers agents. It turns out that Evers, like most real estate offices, has a remote access server at the office. And when I downloaded a free app, IRemote, the office PCs screen miraculously appeared on my I-Pad screen, et voilà! It lets me blog, and do pretty much anything else I could do at any of the office PCs, including print.
The technical how to piece probably needs to be written by someone who doesn't need one of the young techies (Caterina Bannier deserves the credit for this one) at her elbow, explaining step by step what to do.
It's just nice to know that now I can blog anywhere on this little modern miracle.
