Underwood Family Farms is hosting its 10th annual Fall Harvest Festival where it's all about every kind pumpkin you could ever imagine is just sitting and waiting in their fields just hoping to find homesThere will also be demonstrations for new and different ways to decorate them!

The California All Star Bullets, Way of the Orient and Simi Valley Dance will be performing along with some live music from local bands.  There will be Pig Races, Barnyard Story Tales, Tractor-Drawn Wagon Rides and corn mazing.

What would a festival be without tons of good food too!  There will be many food vendors serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, roasted corn on the cob, pie, sliced potatoes, mini-donuts, shaved ice, kettle corn, cookies and many more homemade goodies to make your mouth water.  The Festival is also a great place to host a birthday party, a family reunion or even a corporate party.  Reserve your spot in our party area and enjoy the Festival too!

Hubby and I went to this a few years ago and it was a lot of fun.  Lots of vendors and booths, so much good food and live music (two stages) and there was a show out in the fields too.  Spent the whole day there with friends and had a blast.

The farm does allow well-behaved, socialized dogs, but if they're not, you will be asked to leave.  Also, you will be expected to keep them on leashes and pick up after them too.  Also, you can't feed farm animals because they are on special diets.  Lastly, absolutely no smoking is allowed on the farm, even though you are outside!  Anyone smoking will be asked to put it out or they can leave the farm.

The event starts Saturday, October 30th and runs all weekend from 9am to 6pm.  If you don't know where the Underwood Farms are, they are at 3370 Sunset Valley Road in Moorpark.  Admission is $12.00 and parking is free.  For more info call 529-3690 or check out their website at www.underwoodfamilyfarms.com

Anita - This is a very family friendly event. Hubby and I have been to this one before with friends and we had a blast just hanging out all day listening to bands, eating good food and watching the show in the fields.

Dave - LMAO!!!  Yeah, I guess I got on a roll there with all the gory haunted house posts.  I just love haunted houses and I wanted to get some exposure to some of our local haunts.

Thx for stopping by folks; I really appreciate it.  Have a great weekend.  :)

Donne:  Being married to a farm girl, I can tell you ... we do our fair share of "haunting" this type of event in the Fall.  You can take the girl off the farm.  You just can't take the farm out of the girl.  Everyone should check this out, or something like it in their own area.  It's a great time and great reminder of a slower, more peaceful time.

Donne, this sounds like a great time to be had for all. I got a laugh out of the "well behaved dogs" comment. Generally I find it is the owners that are not well behaved:)))

Gene - As much as I love haunted houses and really miss them (haven't been to one in several years), Hubby much prefers these types of events at Halloween.  We've actually been to this event before and we enjoyed it very much.

Endre - LOL  That is so true.  As a long time dog mama (who cleans up after my fur babies), it irritates the #%!! out of me to see other pet owners who don't.  AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Thx for stopping by guys; I really appreciate it.  Have a wonderful weekend.  :)

Donne- Yes, of course we have similar events in Indiana, afterall, this is farm country!  However, I do not think I have ever seen a pumpkin patch like the one you have pictured!  What a touch decision it would be to choose from all of those!  Really nice localism post.  Wish California wasn't so far away!!

What a fun event in the Fall.  Safe for everyone to attend, that's nice at Halloween because so many events are just too scary!

Pat - The Underwood Farm is huge!  Probably not as huge as the farms in your neck of the woods but out here, 60 acres of sustainable farmlnad in the city is very rare.  Their pumpkin patch is huge along with their corn fields and assortment of other veggies.

Erika - I actually love all the haunted houses we have around here and have blogged on quite a few of them recently.  Someone actually teased me about all the scary posts I was doing so I thought I would do a family friendly post now.

Dagny - Hubby and I have actually been to this event and there are so many food vendors there.  Fresh food vendors with some great treats.

Thx for stopping by ladies; I really appreciate it.  Have a wonderful weekend.  :)

Dave beat me to my point....your posts have been very "dark" lately. Are you a Twilight fan? or just a Halloween nut? Boo!

Karen - I'm a bonafide haunted house fiend.  I've been hooked on them since I was kid.  We have quite few good ones around here and I guess I just wanted to get some exposure to some of the better ones.  I'm actually going to try to get hubby to our local one here in Simi Valley.  He's not really a fan so getting him to one is a struggle.
