WOW! Out of the mouth's of babes! Heroes come in all sizes, including 11 year old Maddie. Watch out, guys, we will be seeing Maddie around the marketplace!
Sometimes I get caught up in things. You know when you start to re-evaluate and something catches your attention and throws you into a new direction? Sometimes, it just makes your journey that much longer and bumpier.
Sometimes that leads someplace wonderful.
I really enjoy listening to Real Estate Today Radio. Because I listen to it on podcast, I occasionally hear it several days after the actual broadcast.
Last Saturday's show stopped me in my tracks today.
There was an interview with an 11 year old girl who wants to become a REALTOR®. I thought- oh, how sweet!
Her name is Maddie Grig. A quick Google search brings nothing up, and I think I'm relieved- for two reasons: a) she's only 11! b) she's already a force to be reckoned with.
She was well-spoken and bright. When asked why she is interested in the business of real estate, her answer was:
"I like the idea of connecting people to their homes.... I really like seeing what they like and how it is similar or different to what you like. ...What I really like about being a REALTOR is working with people and finding out their likes and dislikes and finding out what's right for them and connecting people to their homes."
We get so caught up in the other "stuff" of real estate, sometimes we forget what the basic reason is for doing it.
I think Maddie is my hero of the day.
Now I'd better get back to the business of connecting people to their homes.
