Oma's Pumpkin Patch ~ Lakeside
Don't miss the 11th year Oma's Pumpkin Patch has been providing great fun for East County residents. Looking for a teeny tiny pumpkin? Or maybe one up to 100 lbs. Either way, Oma's has a pumpkin for everyone!
This great pumpkin patch is located at 14950 El Monte Road in Lakeside.Open Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m., Oma's is fun for the whole family! One Adult is FREE with a child's paid admission of $7. What does $7 get you? Every child will get a Jack Patch Pumpkin, bottled water, and entrance to all of the fun activities!
Your kids will enjoy activities such as wandering through the Hay Maze, petting the animals in the petting zoo, sliding down Cottonseed Mountain, tons of games and a huge sand pile with trucks and tractors. Maybe you just take a picnic lunch and enjoy the time at the farm under the shade at the picnic tables!
Oma's is an actual working dairy farm.Since 1960 the Van Ommering family has been operating this dairy farm which produces raw milk for sale to processors of milk powder products, cheese and butter. Don't forget to hop on a Hayride while visiting the pumpkin patch and tour the farm to see how cows are raised and fed! Hayrides will leave every half hour with the last one departing at 6:30 p.m.
Oma's can accommodate any group, organization or even a birthday party! Special presentations of "How Pumpkins Grow" are offered for reserved groups! This place is amazing. Go check it out for yourself. The kids will never want to leave!
Wondering what to do with all of those seeds? Here is a great recipe for pumpkin seeds!
4 1/2 cups of Raw Seeds
1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil
1 Teaspoon Salt
Mix seeds, salt and oil. Spread mixture on wax paper and let them dry for 24-48 hours
Once seeds are dry, place them on a cookie sheet and cook at 325 for 35-40 minutes
Cool, Enjoy!
