It's coming. Winter's right around the corner. Are you prepared? Have you found a way to reduce your heating expenses? I will occasionally post something here that will help you save $$ on your heat. Here's an idea; does your pull down attic staircase have an insulated cover? It should. These covers are easy to make and install or you can buy one pre made at a home center. The savings are significant; more than $250 per winter in my part of the world. Try it out. You'll be glad you did

I may have to try that this year Rory.  We should all take a look at our weather stripping on our front doors too, (including the bottom of the door you NEVER ever look at.  I just replaced all of mine last weekend, and what a huge difference, that "suction" is back, we often forget that that stuff wears out after a handful of years.

Try it. It will make a huge difference. Weatherstripping is also a great way to improve efficiency for very little money.

Tory- Great idea. As the weather cools off, it's time to think about ways insulation, windows, and other heat-trappers can save us money on our heating bills. Plus, it saves energy. Thanks for the tip!
