Did the Law of Attraction Cause This?

The Law of Attraction fascinates me.

Until about ten years ago I was aware of its negative effects - although I'd never heard the phrase "law of attraction." I just knew that people who focused on illness and hard luck always got more of it.

As a result, I grew up learning nothing about any kind of disease because I firmly believed that thinking about them caused them to appear.

I also observed people around me who were always poor. But I attributed that to prefering unemployment to work and to not taking care of the things they owned.

Now I'm watching individuals who always have a new crisis - either with family relationships or with money, or both. And I've started listening to their speech patterns and I understand.

The result of all this observation - and reading a whole lot of books about the law of attraction - has caused me to be pretty careful with my words and thoughts. Darned if I'm going to deliberately invite in things I don't want!

Attracting what you do want is much more fun, and I see it working in my life every day.

The more gratitude I have for my home, my family, my pets, my work, and my wonderful clients, the more good things come into my life.

Which brings me to the question at hand... But first, the background.

For the last 2 years I've been saying that I wanted a maple tree that turned glorious colors in the fall. This year I thought sure I'd go buy one. But... I couldn't decide where I wanted to plant it, and I really didn't have the time either to dig the hole or go find a nursery that had the tree I wanted. (Small town life means time-consuming shopping trips to other communities.)

But I kept saying it. And this year, for some reason I can't explain, one of the maple trees we planted ten years ago decided to grant my wishes...

Even my neighbor stopped by this evening to tell me how beautiful this tree was with the sun shining through it.

I don't care why or how that tree happened to be so beautiful.  It is enough that it is.  It just is.

Enjoy your day!

Marte:  I really don't think the law of attraction had anything to do with this tree and its leaves turning color.  You planted it, it was in soil that fed and nourished it, and it simply became "ripe" enough to blossom... or to have its leaves turn color.  But by all means, if believing that it was the law of attraction that made it happen... if that makes you happy... cool.

By the way... it truly IS a beautiful tree.  And, if you had never planted it... it would never be this beautiful.  Thanks for sharing the picture.

Nancy - it truly is.

Judith - Yes, it is enough, no matter why.

Pamela - I am lucky - no doubt about that.

Karen Ann - You're right - had we not planted it, it would not be there to change colors. Law of Attraction does require you to do more than sit and think about things.

Rama - So you've experienced the power. Isn't it awesome?

Michael - I love the fall too - for the colors, for the crisp air, and that aura of "gathering in" before winter.

I believe in the laws of attraction... Mindset is everything.. You have to keep your head and heart in the right place so good things will come your way and you will be able to push through the bad.

Ron - That's right. The company you keep makes a huge difference.

Jackie - Yes, I've learned a good phrase from the Law of Attraction books - if a negative thought creeps in, I say "Stop. Think a better thought."

Wendy - If your smile is the reflection, it's all good!

Brian - And if you wear a smile, you will look good. No doubt about it.

I know what you're saying, but one of the things I love about plants is that, even when their circumstances aren't perfect, they almost do what they were meant to do. Speaks to showing your beauty despite what's going on. Just another way of saying the same thing you said!

Joetta - your comment reminded me of something Jim Rohn said in one of his motivational talks. "How tall does a tree grow? As tall as it can." Things in nature don't worry about any of the "I can'ts" or "I'm afraids" that we humans use for excuses.
