The Law of Attraction fascinates me.
Until about ten years ago I was aware of its negative effects - although I'd never heard the phrase "law of attraction." I just knew that people who focused on illness and hard luck always got more of it.
As a result, I grew up learning nothing about any kind of disease because I firmly believed that thinking about them caused them to appear.
I also observed people around me who were always poor. But I attributed that to prefering unemployment to work and to not taking care of the things they owned.
Now I'm watching individuals who always have a new crisis - either with family relationships or with money, or both. And I've started listening to their speech patterns and I understand.
The result of all this observation - and reading a whole lot of books about the law of attraction - has caused me to be pretty careful with my words and thoughts. Darned if I'm going to deliberately invite in things I don't want!
Attracting what you do want is much more fun, and I see it working in my life every day.
The more gratitude I have for my home, my family, my pets, my work, and my wonderful clients, the more good things come into my life.
Which brings me to the question at hand... But first, the background.
For the last 2 years I've been saying that I wanted a maple tree that turned glorious colors in the fall. This year I thought sure I'd go buy one. But... I couldn't decide where I wanted to plant it, and I really didn't have the time either to dig the hole or go find a nursery that had the tree I wanted. (Small town life means time-consuming shopping trips to other communities.)
But I kept saying it. And this year, for some reason I can't explain, one of the maple trees we planted ten years ago decided to grant my wishes...
Even my neighbor stopped by this evening to tell me how beautiful this tree was with the sun shining through it.
Did the Law of Attraction Cause This?
