Jack Canfield, the founder of Success Principles, purports, “Count your blessings each day is essential for explosive growth.” And frankly, I completely agree. Reading Paula Hamilton’s Sunday Blessing blogs got me to thinking about this topic.
From our community of Active Rain bloggers who appear successful in their own niches, this attitude of thanksgiving is common among our small group of colleagues.
Make no mistake about it when it comes to counting your blessings. This practice is not for the faint of heart – because it leads to transformation and marvelous growth.
Being able to count your blessings produces an inner awakening about God and regarding whom you really are. It’s a point of realization against nearly all forms of painful adversity that helps to propel you forward about living. As a result, this inner strength and attitude of thankfulness is very potent, as others will inevitably become attracted to this tender-hearted Spirit.
In effect, counting your blessings is not an exclusive act to build up one’s self. It’s a very humble act to acknowledge the importance of others above you, and for the God-fearing and faith-believing, to acknowledge the sovereignty of God.
This blog is not meant to be antagonist about others’ religious beliefs. Rather, it’s meant to spark some thought about the wholeness of healthy living – both personally and professionally.
We consider many of you to be part of what we count as blessings in our lives. In fact, we count you twice. Have a great weekend!
