"If you see only one opera singer wearing a neon wig and singing about an octopus this year, make it Eddie Coker." Kids love to sing along, and parents love the content (and they secretly sing along, too.) If you are looking for some Saturday fun, find an Eddie Coker event and have a blast.
Yes he's a relative, and I still think his music is creative, positive, and entertaining. You can listen to some of his upbeat songs at his Planet Eddiewebsite. I like "The H Word" - about homework, and the one with Boppo the cat in it.
The lyrics are humorous, rambunctious, positive and intelligent all at once. They teach, encourage, and energize. If you don't giggle a little when his songs are on, you're asleep. See if I am right.
See him in North Dallas at the Fall Family Festival - Located near the Old Roy's location in Preston Royal Village at 4:30 pm.
Preston Royal Village is hosting the "Family Fall Festival" October 23rd 4-7pm. There will be free activities for families including a children's costume contest, games, raffles, a petting zoo, and a performance by children's musician Eddie Coker! Many of the merchants at Preston Royal Village will be participating with give-aways, treats, and fun interactive activities for kids!
(I've included this in my local blog here on Cape Cod, in a small effort to generate some local interest in his music. Some of his tunes are about conservation, getting along with other people, and liking who you are.)
