The toughest part about creating jobs is to find the money. My intent has been to find ways of creating jobs without shifting the burden on the tax payer. When we do hear of ideas to create jobs, it usually involves giving a company a huge sum of money. Sure we are promised the investment of tax dollars will one day result in lower taxes for everyone. I'm still waiting for those plans to materialize.
Well I think I know where to find the money. Since the Iraq war has done so little to boost the economy, why not totally end the war. I mean totally, not just scale back with smoke and mirrors, saying things like, we brought back the last combat troops. I mean all the troops.
There are plans to continue to spend as much as $50 billion a year in Iraq over several years. Let's take a look at the situation to see if we can come up with a solution.
We are in Iraq fighting a small group of people. What do these people want? They want to rule the world. Maybe not the world, maybe just Iraq. The citizens of Iraq don't want them, so why don't they throw them out? Good question. Why don't we negotiate with them? Maybe they will take the $50 billion and retire on a remote island.
Maybe that's the solution. There are thousands of islands. Can we find one that is uninhabited, buy it, build luxury condos, and move them to the island where they could spend their life ruling their little part of the world?
Did you ever take a look at the pictures of Iraq? A desert island would do the trick. I'm sure some one could find one some where. Building the luxury condos would employ about 300 contractors for a year. We could also relocate everyone who wanted to follow this opposition. That might be another 12 people, another 3 or 4 houses to build.
To me this sounds like a lot cheaper way out of this situation.
If in the future another group tries pulling the same thing to take advantage of our generosity, we locate the new group to one of the islands used for nuclear testing. Maybe that would send a message to the world domination factions. If they thought real hard, I'm sure they would eventually see the lesson in it.
300 new jobs for a year.
