Special offer

Hey, Where's my sign?

I went to check on one of my listings and the sign was missing. It's happened again. Another sign missing from one of my listings.

I called the last agent who's last offer on the property had fallen through.  It was a shortsale, however, their offer wasn't acceptable to the bank. BPO came back too high as usual.  Buyer's couldn't believe it.

They actually considered spending money for their own appraisal, but changed their minds.  They decided to wait-out the bank and see if they would change their minds.  (apparently, they don't know banks).

Banks would rather let the house foreclose rather than accept a lower offer.  Doesn't make sense to me either; that the bank would risk getting an even lower bid.  Go figure.  Anyway, back to the sign.

Mr. Agent stated that there was never a sign out there.  I informed him that his clients called him from the sign.  (silence), then he saids "oh", well no, I haven't seen the sign, then he saids "maybe I saw it in the bushes, but I am not sure"

What do you think?

So bummed for you! I am sorry this happened. Maybe the neighborhood will allow you to put a directional sign with your name/number in the front window of the listing so your client gets the benefit and you don't lose a sign. Have a good weekend!

Cardinal rule....never, never touch someones sign, the homeowner can but we can never touch it.

I'd report the agent. Can't figure for what reason would Mr. Agent do that, what goes on in their mind.

What do I think? Well I like to give agents the benefit of the doubt but after this statement..."maybe I saw it in the bushes, but I am not sure" I'm going with the buyers agent put it in the bushes.. Just my opinion though. I also had a sign taken off of a listing, got a pretty good idea of where it went...(agent with listing couple houses down) but I am a HUGE believer in karma, so I let it go. Why even ask them, you know if they did it, they are just going to lie, that ties my tummy up cause I get angry so its just not worth asking PLUS I always think if I never ask/bring it up then they will always wonder if I even noticed, why give them the satisfaction of knowing their immaturity, pettiness has even affected me...

Elizabeth....sounds suspect at best...."maybe I saw it in the bushes" sounds like something our 5 year old would say when we catch him up to no good....

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would want our signs?  I've lost a couple of them, and can only surmise that someone getting ready for a garage sale might find them handy. Otherwise?  I just don't get it.
