Para Paints & Sarah Richardson Collaborate in Vancouver
It has been an exciting few days here in the design world. As a Home Stager, I'm always anxious to keep up on the latest trends and styles. Paint is a huge part of what we do. We offer colour consultations for preparing your home for sale, or if you are planning on living in your home. A designer I've often admired is Sarah Richardson of Design Inc. Sarah blew into town for the Interior Design Show West recently, bring her sidekick Tommy Smithe along with her. The design duo were here to promote Sarah's new paint line through Para Paints, the Sarah Richardson Designer Palate.
Coincidentally, the first Para Paint flagship store in Western Canada has just opened in Vancouver, and we were invited to their grand opening wine & cheese event. I was looking forward to a little glass of wine, and chatting with the design world, but was completely suprised to find that tables had been set up in a room above the paint store, complete with a full buffet meal, tablecloths and centrepieces! I felt as if I was attending a wedding - it was wonderful. There were speeches, including a speech from the heart by the owner, Vinay Kumar. The new store, Para Paints and Westcoast Decor Centre, has a clean, natural, airy feel. The paint chips offered are really huge, so that you can really see the colour when you hold it up on a wall (no more little 1/2" X 1/2" squares).
I love Sarah Richardson's palate. She's really known for her soft, warm hues, often found in contemporary spaces or country farm retreats. These colours would be perfect for home staging as they compliment any room.

Owner, Vinay Kumar. Don't you love the colour of his shirt? If I were to match it with Sarah Richardson's new Para Paint Deck, I would say it was "Blue Box" #SR26 - one of my favourite colours.
