I have lived in the Charlotte area for more than 20 years and the majority of my life which is very rare for most residents of the area. I grew up in the town of Matthews where my parents still live today. The area has developed into a gorgeous town and the changes are astounding when I remember what it looked like when we first arrived in 1987! During college, I got married and made a new life for myself in Monroe which is located in Union County. We lived there for over 4 years and really enjoyed the friends we made in the community and the things there were to do so close to home. I have most recently become a resident of Waxhaw. As a small child, we used to go out to Waxhaw to visit the JAARs Center for field trips with school or to go camping with friends. At that time, we would ALWAYS get lost as it was just plot of empty land after plot of empty land.....Well, that has QUICKLY changed and Waxhaw has become one of the most desired cities of Union County because of it's location and it's schools. We are very happy here and do not plan on making a move unless it is to a TROPICAL island somewhere!! (Hey, a girl can dream, right??)
I am happily married to my best friend Rich, who is a local landscaper & grading contractor. He is a transplant of Long Island, NY and quickly became a Carolina man with my influences. He has since taken up my passion of NASCAR racing (I have been attending since 1987....LOL!) and enjoys a good country song from time to time. He never looks back and honestly has no desire to even visit his hometown. Guess that is a GREAT thing, as I HATE cold weather!! We also have an adorable and spunky Yorkshire terrier named "Monster Truck" who is the joy of our days. Isn't he precious!?
I graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and went on to become a Registered Dietitian. I really LOVED my internship during school of real world dietetics, but after 2 years working clinically as a Dietitian in nursing homes and a brief 6 month stint in a dialysis center, I knew my calling was elsewhere. My husband had always told me I would be great at real estate, so I embarked on the journey of Real Estate school. Man....what a HARD class!! I know that they tell you that, but they mean it....but, I thankfully passed my test on December 23, 2004!! It was definitely a good way to start up 2005!! While, I keep up my license in Nutrition (for the future and MY PARENTS sanity), I have happily been in Real Estate with Keller Williams since the beginning of 2005!
Since joining Keller Williams, I have had an amazing time getting to know all of my clients and working hard to make sure that the process is as easy and FUN as possible! My theory is that if we are not having fun, we should not be doing the deal together. I have made many life-long friends in my clients which is very satisfying and makes the job not seem so much like work, although we do work very hard together. My experiences have brought me where I am today which I feel is a very strong, caring, educated and feisty (when I need to be) Realtor.
