When a home is listed for sale, the old adage: "A picture speaks a thousand words" is never more true than in real estate.  While I can write prose and verbage that can invoke images of excitement, tranquility and enchantment, all that can be instantly blown out of the water when mediocre or horrible photographs.  Do the photos match the text?  and vice versa?  If not, what's the point?  You are representing someone's largest investment and most Realtors and real estate companies use office equipment that is generations behind.  Moreover, most Realtors don't even know camera basics, such as lighting, expsoure and flash capabilities and when or when not to use them.  A consumer should take a hard look and see firsthand how their home will be represented, as this is what YOUR buyer will be using they start their decision making process.

Chris, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

It amazes me how often Agents forget that the Picture needs to SELL the property. The photo should not just be there for the sake of having a photo.  What does it communicate about the property??  Is that communication positive or could it actually be a negative

A wise seller will reaseard an agents website (if they have one) to see the quality of the marketing that that agent produces. Photos being a critical element.

All the best.

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words.  Of course the big question is "what are those photos saying?"  Good post.  I touched on this topis myself today.  Agents need to learn a bit about photography or photographers.
