This will be a great opportunity to teach our children not to forget about the elderly during the holidays. They are just like everyone else, they would appreciate the fun they can share with their family and friends. I remember my daughter went to Willowbend with the church last year for Trick or Treat, and she had lots of fun. She told me she talked to a couple of the elderly there and they were so happy to see all those children coming through. It was the excitment for them to last for a long time.

Thats a great way to get the residents into the spirit!
I used to have a therapy dog and the therapy dog group of volunteers would dress up our dogs and ourselves and go visit the hospital Rehab unit....but alas my little Bocie has passed on now so my fun is manning the door of my own home for trick or treaters these days!
That's a wonderful idea! Older people periodically need to be around the youngsters and vice-versa. It's an excellent way to teach patience and respect to a younger person.
Marilyn, I think so, too. I think kids need to learn how to respect and talk to older people at early age. I think they will have as much fun as the kids.
Leolinda, I absolutely agreed!
What a win-win situation for the elder residents and the kids. One stop shopping for the trick or treaters and bringing joy to the residents.
Having the elderly engage with the kids is a great way to bridge the gap. Both age groups will benefit.
Lora, I agreed, too. I think it is a very sweet idea. Many people always forget about the elderly need to have fun and social interaction with others, too.
Bill, absolutely! I love to see young and old generation can share the joy and fun of a holiday/event.
