If you haven't checked your security settings in a while on Facebook, you should do so as Facebook has made some changes to their Security Settings.  Please note that you make this change under Account Settings, not Privacy Settings.  It's a separate tab.

Via Ken Brand (Prudential Gary Greene, Realtors):

I Was Mortified, My Facebook Account Was Hacked, And I Was The Last To Know.

You’ve heard the story, maybe you’ve even lived it?  Some clown figured out how to hack into your Facebook account and then things got downright nasty, embarrassing and painful .  Besides offending and deleting your friends, naked porno pictures were posted.  To add insult to injury, you didn’t find out about it until the mushroom cloud cleared.

I have Good News…

Facebook has added a new Security Setting that fires off an email flare if a new computer or device logs into your Facebook Account.  You can also see the history of recent logins and end any suspicious activity.

Here’s How To Set Your Email Flare, Facebook Security Setting.

1.  Log into your Facebook account.

2.  In the upper right hand corner, click on the Account link.

3.  In the drop down box, click Account Settings.

4.  When you click on the Account Settings Link, the screen pictured below will appear.  Click on the  Account Security link, or the Change link to the right.

5.  When this screen pops up, set your Facebook Log In notifications and take a look at your Activity Log.  This is where you can disconnect someone when your receive a Hacking Clown Alert.  You’ll want to log in and change your security settings PRONTO.

There you go.  Cool right?  Good luck with it.  It seems Facebook is making efforts to constantly improve our experience and confidence.  It’s interesting to note that they can add where we login from (which city) to their universe of our behavioral stuff.  I imagine the ads we’re served up when we’re in another town, might be different from ads served up when we’re in town.  Hmmmmm.

PS.  Oh, one last thing, if we’re not friends on Facebook, let’s connect. Click Here to connect with me on my Facebook Profile Page.  Click Here to keep up with real estate, sales and persuasion stuff (this is my Facebook Business Page).  If you’re a Twitterer,  Click Here so we can connect there too.

PSS.  If I can be helpful, let me know.  Ken Brand 832-797-1779.

Cheers.
