Are You Going to Find a Reason or an Excuse to Excel this Season?
Randy, thank you so much for sharing this... motivation is the key to success in this business, and a postiive attitude. We all have our moments, but we must seize the opportunity when others are not!!
The tendency, all of us being human, is to listen, absorb, and except the popular idea that you may as well quit working from the middle of November to the middle of January because everyone is too busy tending to the holidays to think about buying or selling homes. Right?
What happens if you turn it around; turn your thinking around? Where others sees obstacles, you n.eed to see opportunity. Seize this time to talk to people while others are at home feeling sad because there is no business available for 2 more months. Have a good head of steam built up to head into the new year. The first quarter is traditional my 1st or 2nd best of my year because I'm calling people to wish them happy new year. THEY always ask me about business, not the other way around.
Summertime, another period when we think no opportunity exists. This summer my office adopted the mindset to change that, so we had a little contest called Into the Pool. From July 1st thru August 31st, as soon as you had your first sale, rental, listing, referral, or sponsored someone to join the office, your name was placed 'in the pool'.
The reward? A little rubber duck given out at the team meeting!! That's it. What was the result of this contest? A record month (August); a scramble to be in the pool; higher energy level; and most important of all.....complete annihilation of the myth there is no business in the summer!
What now? Are you going to see a reason to get it done; OR, an excuse to not do the work?
