Greenville, Delaware, northwest of Wilmington is more than a suburb west of Philadelphia. It was my place of work for more than 20 years.  The seat of  sprawling du Pont family estates, (many now for sale)  golf courses and country clubs, and a river indeed, runs through it.

More precisely the Brandywine Creek meanders, where the du Pont family made a  fortune  in black powder beginning in 1802.

Today the Hagley Museum & Library continues to illiuminate a history of Irish immigrants, French ex-patriots and how American enterprisel evolved. 

And one of Greenvilles', most prominent citizens is Vice President Joe Biden.

Congruent with Irish culture, verdant countryside and a river is beer. Beer? Beer? Check out Halgey's online Beer & Brewing exhibition online  making this maintstay a lot more interesting

And then visit   Twin Lakes Brewing Company to try some of Greenville's own brews (more on that later)
