National holidays are not usually very fruitful when trying to generate new real estate business. Sure, you can take care of the busy work and clear off your desk ... but your potential Buyers and Sellers usually have plans that conflict with a meeting with you.
I remember Labor Day as not fitting that mold. Many buyers haven't made their planned move so this is one of their last opportunities before school starts (or gets too far along). Sellers that haven't sold yet may want to take their house off the market until after the holidays ... so this may be your last shot with open houses.
My desk is still a mess, but I was able to get in some productive work and also some play time.
- On Saturday we took the kids and their friends for a bike ride on the Foothills trail that begins in Puyallup, runs through Orting and to South Prairie then forks with one branch going to Buckley and the other to Wilkeson and Carbonado at the gate of Mt Rainier National Park.
- We had a relaxing Sunday morning, finished off with a poker and Bar-B-Q party with some friends in Federal Way.
- I was sorta bad this morning and lazily slept in (really rare thing for me). Plans for another Bar-B-Q this afternoon fell apart but I'm still getting some productive real estate web programming work done. This is our first "school night" of the year and it looks like we'll be taking it easy.
So what did you do this weekend? I hope you made time and rejuvenated with some relaxation and recreational fun. But if you worked your real estate business ... believe me I've been there and understand. Happy Labor Day!
