The Question of Commission

The Question of Commission-    I am almost always asked what the real estate commission will be.  It is a fair question as the commissions are not set by the industry but are fully negotiable between the Realtor and the Seller based on many factors.  The question should be reframed as "What will you do to EARN your professional service fee?"  Please listen to the the video below for my opinion on how to address this touchy subject with the Realtors you are interviewing to represent you in the sale of your home.

It is a case of you Mr Seller want your property marketed full throttle. You need help pricing it in the market and updating that price to reflect the market it is in. Then the networking with other agents, brokers in the mls, the way you shoot real video, take better images, how you market specifically kicks in. If you sell it yourself here are the pitfalls, legal quick sand. Tell them what you provide, show them the testimonials, your track record not just listing but selling boatloads of properties. Overhead and your expertise cost money.  

I would not start saying in the video the "owner is phrasing it wrong...calling it a commission rather than ..." The seller, owner, real estate industry calls it a commission. We are selling the owner's property and we get a commission, co broke a commission. Changing the name does not help. Showing results, examples, the value of hiring you does.
