Wynchase in Oklahoma City, What a Value!

Wynchase in Oklahoma City is a neighborhood you may not have heard about yet.  But, the buzz is starting.  In the ever-popular Deer Creek School District, Wynchase is located off of MacArthur just south of NW 164th.  It is just a short drive away from the Turnpike or the Hefner Parkway (74).  The location makes it an easy commute to work in Oklahoma City or shopping near Quail Springs.

The homes in Wynchase are built by DR Horton Homes and range in size from 1800-3300 square feet.  The average size is about 2300 square feet.  Most of the homes feature two open living spaces and two dining areas making them perfect for holiday entertaining.  Standard finishing touches include crown molding, rounded corners, and granite kitchen counters.  Can you believe that all of this can be had for under $250,000?  That's right, less than $250,000 for new construction in Deer Creek Schools!

I had the opportunity to tour many of the homes at a Realtor event last week and then showed the homes to a buyer over the weekend.  I wanted to share the two unique perspectives on Wynchase with you.

The buyer I took through the neighborhood and homes just loved the open spaces.  She liked that the kitchen was at the center of the home.  She loves to cook and entertain her friends and family.  So, this set up will work well for that.  She also liked that the private areas of the home were just that, private.  That way when she entertained, she would not worry about someone seeing her messy bedroom or disturb sleeping babies.  Since she is relocating from the east, she also liked that DR Horton offers a storm shelter in the foundation as an option.

As for me, I really liked the use of multiple finishes on the exteriors. I found the combination of brick, stone and siding to be very interesting and it's not common in this price point.  Many of the homes have large front porches.  After living in the south for several years, that is a feature that always grabs my attention!  DR Horton even fully sods the yard (back yard too!) and puts up a 6 foot privacy fence with a gate.  This is very often an expense new home buyers overlook when buying new construction!  I also like that there are plans to add a clubhouse and pool to the community.  But the big deal in a DR Horton home is that their foundations are professionally engineered and have an extended warranty.  I think that gives home buyers an added peace of mind in their purchase.
