The weather folks in Wisconsin have forecast extremely high winds for the next 2 days...the utilities are preparing crews for downed power lines, any lawn furniture has been exported from patios and decks to garages and basements...any loose anything anywhere is secured as best it can be. I got to thinking ...what would it be like if we were the first Realtors on Oz...would the Wizard require a sign and building permit for us to "hang up our shingle?"
Would Scarecrow find his home climate controlled so that the right amount of humidity would keep him healthy rather than contribute to his brittle straw innards....? Would the Tin Man have found the magic combination of elements to keep him from rusting and his joints well lubricated....would it be a mental health facility that treated all kinds of issues....toned up the attitude of the Lion and gave him Courage...calmed Dorothy's fears about not returning to Kansas?
Would the Ruby Slippers be replaced with fashionable running shoes and be sponsored by an athletic ...and pinafores be all the rage with pigtailed coiffures tied with matching ribbons or would they be replaced with spikey and colorfully fashioned hair don'ts....
Would the Flying Monkeys have been named to the endangered species list...How would the residents of Oz accept the views and beliefs of the Wicked Witch of the West or Glinda the Good Witch...is that how their political allegiances would be determined by which Broom was most appealing ?
And,....who would be visiting the Wizard.....and what would they be requesting....a better, bigger brain to be able to cope with change....a kinder heart to sympathize with the less fortunate....and the courage to act and make a difference throughout the Kingdom so that everyone would have a better future....Have you been to see the Wizard.....because, because, because...because of the wonderful things he does....what wonderful things will you do when you allow for change in your life ...your business...the place you have chosen as your own kingdom....
Thanks Sally and David for the interesting perspective on Oz and realtors and client needs.
Cheers

Now that's interesting - great blog. Love the title as well. Have a great day.
Good day for making soup....working on next year's marketing plan....being productive..
What you propose is exactly what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they said "Novo Ordo Seclorum." They envisioned a place where people were free to interact in a market composed of rugged individuals and endowed by God with rights that a big government was restricted to never impinge upon.
Wow, have we strayed!
Wow sally...love the way your creative mind works....from a wind storm sentence to this...great stuff!
Sally I can just imagine you in those ruby slippers.............go for it girl.
Skip down that Yellow Brick Road with enthusiasm....and if you find yourself on the wrong road...took the wrong fork...don't be afraid to stop and ask for directions....it's all there if you want it !
Oh, too many questions, but I do wish those flying monkeys had made it to the endangered species list. Instead, they are extinct.
As long as I've got my dog (aka Toto), I'd wander the Yellow Brick Road and Oz forever! Hope you made it through the weather!
There is another day of Oz ish forecast today...I think I can hear the monkeys at the window...
Sally: Hmmmm ... I'm thinking that I want some of what you've been sipping while at home during the high winds! Can you send some of that south to Chicagoland???
