The Mayor and other City of Wenatchee officials have learned roots (and emotions) run deep when it comes to the history and heritage of the Wenatchee apple industry.   Mayor, Dennis Johnson, said the removal of the old Apple Capital sign at the entrance to Wenatchee was the biggest controversy of the last year.

Last Wednesday the new sign (above) was unveiled and is an appropriate welcome to the city of Wenatchee...  still The Apple Capital of the World.

Alcoa Wenatchee donated the aluminum and $30,000 toward the construction of the new sign.  THANKS ALCOA!

We love our new sign.
