Keeping a Postive Attitude As An Entrepreneur

KEEPING A POSTIVE ATTITUDE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR

We all have our moments and maintaining a Positive Attitude about the Future is something we all should focus on.

When it comes to thinking about the future (especially during these times of uncertainty) it's challenging to maintain a positive attitude and a hopeful outlook.

T.V., radio, magazines and newspapers do a wonderful job at boosting negativity by featuring bad news. The media is well practiced at drawing us into the fear drama. This makes staying positive, an even more difficult task!

Percentage wise, there is a lot more positive news in the world -- But the uplifting topics and stories do not make as much in advertising dollars. So for the sake of profit, we're fed fearful, negative news more often than not!

Also, many of us come from a long line of 'doom and gloom' types. Relatives and loved ones who focus(ed) on what’s wrong -- What's wrong now, what went wrong in the past and what might go wrong in the future! A trilogy of negativity we heard again and again, especially during our younger/childhood years.

We've inherited the habit of dwelling on the bad stuff. We’ve learned from the best how to stress out. We worry and get anxious about finances, world politics, the economy, the environment, terrorism, wide spread disease, our jobs, material possessions, investments, taxes, relationships, our health, other people etc.

Fretting, worrying and having anxiety directly impacts our stress levels. This increased stress adversely affects our physical, mental and emotional well-being!

The good news is, instead of getting lost in negative and stressful thoughts and emotions, we can tine in and become more aware. We can learn to shift destructive patterns of thinking and feeling. We can avoid the pitfalls of hanging out in our own negative vibes!

One of the best tools to help us become more positive and hopeful is the Emotional Freedom Techniques. Here is a something that might help improve your mood and vibration!

1.                 Be realistic about your goals: avoid setting insane expectations you can't possibly

2. Surround yourself with positive people - family,  partners and employees.

3.

Turn disappointments and failures into positive opportunities and realize that most successful entrepreneurs built success from failure.

4.

Think about how you talk to yourself. Tone down the negative chatter and the "I told you so!"

5.

Keep visualizing your dreams and believe that you will achieve them.

Take Time, yes, time for you and the family to enjoy the Beauty that surrounds us!!

Tips & Warnings

  • Developing a positive attitude takes practice, especially if you are a worrier by nature.

  • Catch yourself when you start to brood or feel down, and turn it around in your head. For example, if a customer takes his or her business elsewhere, think, "Great, now I will have more time and energy to serve someone else more suitable for my business. I wonder who that will be.
  • Even the most optimistic people have times when they feel down. Don't expect happiness to be a constant companion. Rather, when you do feel a little down, struggle to boost yourself up.

  • You will find this more difficult if you are married to, living with or employing a very negative person. Defend yourself from other people's negativity.

"Any fact facing us is not as important as our attitude toward it, for that determines our success or failure. The way you think about a fact may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the fact because you think you are. "

~ Norman Vincent Peale

"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. "

~ Thomas Jefferson

"When written in Chinese, the word crisis is composed of two characters. One represents danger, and the other represents opportunity."

~ John F. Kennedy

There is a lot of HTML in your blog - is this for SEO optimization? Or is it a factor of cutting and pasting, and you may want to 'break the link' prior to posting?

Hi Sharon

Not sure on the HTML, however, this is relatively new to me, I think you have a bit more information than I do at this point.
