I purchased Strenth Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath (The #1 Wall Street Journal BestSeller) as part of my assignment to a new group I joined called "MENEntrepreneurs".
At the back of the book is an access code to a website where you take a personality test to determine what are your strengths as a person.
I am going to share with you what my personal strengths are and suggest anyone in business for themselves and this includes all Realtors because we are all small business owners.
After taking the test my personal strengths are:
WOO: Woo stands for Winning others over. People with Woo characteristics likes meeting new people and the challenge of new social situations
COMMUNICATION: People with good communication like to speak in public, teach others by writing.
EMPATHY: People with empathy are sensitive to what others are feeling around you.
ADAPTABILITY: People with adaptability live in the present and can change in a moments time or stay focused on a particular task.which is short range.
Now based on these strengths I have written a little autobiograpy of myself which I am going to share next.
AUTOBIOGRAPHY:
I like people and I like people to like me. I like to be in social situations with people and strike up conversations with them and make them feel comfortable.
I am a sensitive person who always strives to be kind to others and tend to look at things from a point of view of things as they should be and not what they are. I am also keenly aware of my need to help others in need and am driven by this desire to accomplish good deeds.
I tend to stay focused on the present tense. Not that I cannot plan for the future but it might be a little bit shorter range than others. Short term goals work better for me than do long range goals.
But that is good because I am also adaptable and likely to change my direction at any moment and am not afraid to change when it is necessary.
In business I am broker/owner of my own Real Estate office. As most people know the economy during the past couple of years has forced many realtors out of business and those who have stayed had to adapt to the current market conditions.
This was easy for me because I like changes and find it easy to work the distressed real estate market because it brings my strengths together. I am sensitive to the hardships people are facing today and am able to connect with them and help them in any way I can.
In Conclusion, I suggest anyone who is in business for themselves take a real look at yourself and see what are your personal strengths, what areas are your weakness, and come to terms with who you are as a person for personal growth and business.
