Those of you who know me know that I rely on God a lot.
But I also subscribe to that old adage, "The Good Lord helps those who help themselves."
An email I received this morning reminded me of why I have to sometimes just shake my head in this blessed industry of real estate... (and you know, some of this stuff is just too good to be made up!)
"I did put my house back on the market this past weekend though. I am still in prayer. Again, I am going to sell it myself trusting God to send a buyer if and when its His will. "
I promise, I'm not poking fun at anyone's faith. Faith is certainly bigger than any of us and the Good Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways! But come on now, do we really think that a move is going to be dictated by such passive action? This buyer has been emailing us for some time, had asked for a market evaluation (and the agent to whom she was referred in her market, was told that she's not planning to move until next year sometime). I was always taught that faith is supported by action-but you have to TAKE some action, if you want to sell a piece of real estate. Especially in today's market, when you're competing with more inventory than ever for an ever-shrinking pool of buyers. There are perfectly conditioned houses with motivated sellers and sharp agents who are ALSO praying for a buyer.
It really just boils down to the fact that if you want to sell, sell. If you're not sure, sit tight.
