Special offer

I love my job...

By
Real Estate Agent with Orlando Area Real Estate Services

My faith in human nature has been restored today. I have been writing e-mail and sending listings to a person in Puerto Rica for around 12 months now. I have never met this man and finally he informs me that he is moving to Florida and he is coming for a visit.

So we arrange somethings and then he says over the phone "can I ask you a personal question?" to which I reply of course. I am afterall an open book. SO this man asks me if I drink! "well socially" I say and he then says, "we'll have to have a drink when I'm in town".

Today he arrives and walks into my office with a very expensive bottle of Merlot! I repeat - I have never met this person before today, but he liked my service well enough to reward it before we have even begun to look at homes.

I hope you waited until he signed an offer before opening that bottle.  You never want someone to come back later and say they were under duress from the wine!!

Obviously your willingness to work with him and give him the information he needed meant something to him and he wanted to thank you for it.  Absolutely nothing wrong with that!  Feels nice to be appreciated doesn't it?!  I felt much the same way after a closing when a client gave me a beautiful bracelet as a "thank you" for helping them buy their first home.  I was reward monetarily as well as personally.  A beautiful thing!

Great job Simon,

12 months is a long time to work with someone without meeting them.  I'm sure you will be rewarded for it in one way or another.
