Sales Skills - Something in Common

Birds of a Feather ....

Duck Day in Kelowna

Commonality builds rapport. Rapport influences our decisions. It is like a comfort food. Macaroni and cheese; Home made Chicken Soup. We like being liked.  Referral businesses are built on rapport and a common shared thread.

Unique points of difference help to single out commonality. Follow your passion, be true to you, your values, and who you are. This in turn will attract like minded individuals - people who share your interests - and your business will build around your passion. Do what you love and you will love what you do!

All too often we try to emulate the latest and greatest Real Estate Guru "Send out 10 Thank you cards every day, maintain a top Producer database, knock on doors, cold calls " all worthwhile and successful sales tools, but will it attract the people who share your passions? Or will they just keep you busy being busy?

If your passion is the outdoors,  joining Gardening or Bird Watching Society may result in not only a fun past time, but will connect you with people who you have instant rapport with.

Next time you feel driven to sit in the office and pick up the 100 lb. phone to solicit another cold call - ask your self if there is a place you would rather be? Someplace you may stand out above the others? Go there.

Great advice! It's so much easier finding a home for people you connect with too!
