Walk and Ride at Twin Peaks In Marana, AZ - Interchange to Open

As a professional who helps their clients to buy and sell houses in the Tucson, Marana, Vail and Oro Valley neighborhoods, I put a lot of miles on my car.  Traffic in Tucson is challenging to me; I lived 23 years in rural Wisconsin, in and around the area of Green Bay.  I can see more cars between two and three AM than I did all day in Luxemburg, WI, not that I'm up at 2 AM very often!

So, roads are important.  Also the fact that we have ONE interstate slashing diagonally through Tucson metropolis also makes me dependent upon getting through town.  When a new exit or through-way opens up, it's news!

When road construction began in Marana last year, I was pretty thrilled there'd be a new way to cut 15 minutes off a familiar route. I blogged about it in an early post when the 'Twin Peaks Road” – NW Marana, interchange got its official name.

So now it's cause for celebration!  On November 18, residents of Dove Mountain, Marana, and Continental Ranch, Marana, will be connected by a beautiful new road.  Cost of this baby was near $80 million, with a nearby road in connection with the project adding in another 30 million plus.  Wow....  No wonder we don't too many new roads!

The Town of Marana is personally celebrating with the Community United Walk and Ride at Twin Peaks In Marana, AZ with biking, walking, and running scheduled on Saturday, November 13, 2010 before the road officially opens to vehicular traffic on the 18th.  There will be a 16 kilometer bike ride at 8 a.m., a 10K walk and run at 8:15 a.m.  Entrants receive a t-shirt and raffle ticket, with proceeds going to the Marana Community Food bank.

Our mayor, Ed Honea even walked the four-mile segment from the new freeway interchange up to Tangerine road, remarking on the gorgeous view.

If you'd like more information on the Run and Ride, check out www.Marana.com here for times and meeting place for the event in which you'd like to participate.

Meanwhile, I'm going to be happy that some of our Tangerine Road traffic will find a new way to Continental Ranch.  It's bound to help.

There are a lot of great communities nearby this easy access to I-10, so if you're looking for a new home in the Dove Mountain area, specifically in the communities of SkyRanch or Tangerine Crossing, you can find more information in the links provided.

On the Twin Peaks side of the new intersection, nearby Palisades at the Pines, Continental Ranch, and Continental Reserve will be minutes away, not to mention the active adult community of SunFlower.

I am happy to assist in your home buying or selling process!  Welcome to the more efficiently-connected communities of Marana!

Get out your bicycle or your walking shoes, and join in on the last days with the scenic Walk and Ride at Twin Peaks In Marana, AZ - before the I-10 Interchange will open.
