November Events in Chicago, IL - Chicago Banner Auction
It was the Blackhawk banners in Karen Winters' (Chicago Realtor, Prudential Rubloff) picture that caught my eye ... but it was the great information contained within her post that made me decide to re-blog her post.
I just personally found the information that Karen Winters shared of great interest and thought others might too. I applaud the Mayor of the City of Chicago for finding such a novel way to assist its people. This is simply a fun and fantastic way to support important and beneficial charity work.

The Holidays are coming. These could make some pretty amazing gifts, couldn't they?? Think about it .... and make plans to get to Chicago for this Banner Auction on November 17th ...

November Events in Chicago, IL - Chicago Banner Auction
For several years, the city and various civic groups have decorated Chicagoland street poles with banners to commemorate special events such as festivals, theater productions and of course, championship teams!
The banners are auctioned off towards the end of the year. Proceeds benefit the Mayor's
"Share It" program which supports:
- the Greater Chicago Food Depository
- the Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation
- organizations that purchase holiday gifts for underprivileged Chicago children
This year's auction takes place on November 17th at Daley Plaza from noon-1:30. This is an opportunity to snag a bit of Chicago memorabilia and at the same time, support causes that help those in need. Daley Plaza is located in the heart of the loop, on Washington, between Dearborn and Clark.
