Since Halloween day is just around the corner, you will begin to see fairies, action heroes, ghosts and more all around your Lake Havasu City neighborhood. Soon they will be ringing doorbells and shouting "trick or treat". Therefore, I have some smart, safe tips for Halloween fun in Lake Havasu City.
Homeowners across town will decorate their homes in Halloween style. Many will even answer the door dressed in full costumes themselves. And there will be plenty of candy to go around for everyone.
If you plan to participate in Halloween this year, keep in mind your etiquette while you're having fun. This will help ensure everyone has a safe and fun Halloween.
* If you're planning to pass out candy to your local trick-or-treaters, leave your porch light on. This will let kids and parents know you are ready and waiting for them. When you run out of candy, turn your lights off to let them know you are done for the night.
* If you have decorated your yard and exterior of your home, make sure trick-or-treaters can easily walk around without tripping. If you have stretched electrical cords across the walkways, duct tape them to the ground.
* Watch your time if you're in a neighborhood. Many neighborhoods like to call it a night at a certain time and won't appreciate sounds or strobe lights after midnight.
* Always examine your candy closely before eating any treats you receive from anyone. To help prevent your children from indulging before you have a chance to examine the candy, feed them a large dinner before heading out.
Also, Lake Havasu City businesses around the London Bridge will be closing down their stores so they can be free to stand outside and pass out candy in a safe and friendly environment for trick-or-treaters.
