Kat, the invasion of the big box stores is inevitable once a community reaches a certain size.
It's happened here in Belleville too with stores like The Future Shop and Home Depot coming in and taking away a lot of business from the little guys. Then again, it has also brought more affordable products for people on a budget and new jobs for the area ...so there are silver linings in the clouds....

Kat, haven't visited you for awhile. Looks like you've been busy since this is the first post I could find. Small towns, in my experience, don't stay that way forever. We all want the conveniences without the crowds and yet to be in our "rural" areas. Doesn't last.........
