This is an organization that I am involved with and would love to see more people get involved.

Connections Kids Exchange is a local, safe and neutral environment for supervision of visitations and transfer of children between parties.  The program helps parents who are separated, divorced, or divorcing, or in paternity situations. If you or someone you know may need:

·   A place where parents do not have to come into contact with each other

·   A monitored or structured setting with someone who supervises visits

·   A  location to exercise your visitation based on a court order

·   An environment in which you can re-establish a relationship with your child

·   A safe environment when you have concerns about your children's visits with their other parent

·   Assistance in finding a solution to custody and visitation questions

If you have questions, call Sandy at (830) 629-6571 ext 216

Connections served more than 5,000 youth and families this past year in 18 counties. We believe it truly takes a village to raise a child and we believe the family is the foundation of the community. If you have time, talent or resources you can share with us, call us today!

Amy,

What a great idea...I know of several families right in my circle of friends that could benefit from Connections Kids. I also teach children's fitness and have a e-newsletter that goes out monthly. If you have further info regarding locations in Pennsylvania, I'd be very interested in including that in my next newsletter. Thanks!

I had an ex-boyfriend who worked for one of these places (still does 8 years later, last I heard).  I would imagine that every major town does have something like this in place.

Word of caution though:  this is more stressful for the children that when parents can contain their animosity enough to have civilized exchanges.  This is best for court ordered situations such as when there is a restraining order or parent must be supervised

Hello Amy,
It is so sad that there is a need for this.  If adults would behave like adults and put their children's needs and interest first as they should--there would not be.

All that said, I am happy that there is an organization to assist in these unfortunate situations.

Faith,  Please feel free to call the number in my original comment to see if Tammy or Sandy can help you find an organization in your area.  We are in Texas, but like the comment from Tarina, I am sure you can find organizations as good as this one all over.

If someone lives in our area and would like to help out in a more personal way.  Here are some of the things they are requesting:

Here are a few areas where volunteers are needed:

·   Office/database help

·   Birthday or holiday buddies

·   Mentoring

·   Decorating, sewing, or painting

·   Landscaping/gardening

·   Teaching hobbies, crafts, or skills

·   Playing golf with youth

·   Handyman (or woman) tasks

If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please call Connections at  (830) 629-6571!
