Costume Hallelujah Party
Make plans to bring your entire family to attend the annual Hallelujah party at Riverside Baptist Church on Saturday, October 30th, from 4 to 6 pm. There will be lots of games, face painting and MORE for kids up to the 6th grade. Bring the WHOLE family because the older kids have just as much fun “assisting” as the younger ones do! There will also be hot dogs on the grill and even a hay ride!
Games Include:
· Treat Walk
· Coke Ring Toss
· Duck Pond
· Dart Balloon Pop
· Nerf Darts
· Soft Shell Gun Target
· Cork Gun Shooting
· Mini Golf
· Twister
· Bean Bag Throw (Several Varieties)
Participation in each game will earn the child a piece of candy or treat! EVERYONE is a winner at the Hallelujah Party!
There will be a nail painting booth where you and your child can have your nails painted. Each fingernail is painted a different color that will represent part of the gospel story. Here’s an example of what might be said (just in case you want to do the same thing at one of your events.)
1. GOLD – The streets of gold are in Heaven. Heaven is where God lives and you have to be perfect, like God, to go to Heaven. Have you ever done anything your mom or dad has asked you not to? (YES!) Me too L that means we are not perfect. We have sinned.
2. BLACK – So we will paint this nail black to remind us of the sin that we have in our lives. L
3. RED – THANK GOD, the story doesn’t end there! I have good news! God knew that we would make mistakes! AND He loved us so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. WHEN we realize that we are sinners and our need for salvation, then we can ask Christ to be the Lord of our lives. When we do this, Jesus lives inside our heart. The red polish is to remind us that the blood of Christ paid for our sin and the new heart that we have when we Admit that we are a sinner, Believe that Christ died for our sins and Confess (tell others) that Christ is our Savior. ☺
4. WHITE – When we ask Jesus to be our Lord, His blood washes away our sins, white as snow. Not just the sins of our past, but EVERY sin EVER. Because we love Jesus for what he has done for us, we no longer want to sin and are sad when we disappoint Him. How can we sin less? (let them answer)
5. GREEN – Those are great answers. Here’s another one! Just like the grass needs sun and rain to grow, Christians need to grow in their walk with Christ. We can do this by reading The Bible, going to Sunday school and church and by praying. Praying is simply talking to God. Just like we are talking right now. So the green fingernail is to remind you of your need to GROW in Christ. Now, can you tell me the salvation story? You would be surprised how many of the children can! Is that cool, or WHAT?!
