12 Comments on Who do you cheer on when your team doesn’t make it to the World Series?
Baseball is the best sport in the world. At 44, I still play in an adult wood bat league. Tough answer, about who to root for now. I'm rooting a little bit more for the Rangers but the Giants really came out slugging against Cliff Lee last night.
Todd ~ I'm already upset that I'll be without baseball for 5 months. Baseball is the only sport I enjoy watching, and as much as I love October, I hate to see the season go. Atlanta being my favorite, I follow a few teams, Boston being one of those (more of a fair-weather since '04...but they really grew on me). I'd love to see Texas take the Series!
Todd, I love Baseball but truly haven't been to a game (major league anyway), in years. I grew up in Kansas City and in the 80's the Royals were on fire. I got to attend the World Series then. It was amazing! Moved to Nashville and now Huntsville...no Major Baseball.
I guess I'll have to say I"m a Cubs fan. My Uncle who was mildly retarded sold Beer in the stands for years. When I'd visit he'd make sure I always had seats in his section. I was always so darned proud to watch him work his tender heart out, smiling the entire time. He loved what he did and the fans loved him as well. So, I'm cheering for the Cubs next year. Guess I"ll beg off the World Series this year!
Geez....how did a comment turn into such a great memory for me? I've had a mental stroll down Memory Lane while visiting your post. Thanks for the great reminders :)
As for why there are so many New York fans? Beats the heck out of me. Lol!
Todd, sorry not into baseball, but I must say I sure like your pet pig....great photo. How did you get him/her to smile :)
I've traditionally cheered on my team's league. I'm in San Diego, where playoff games and World Series are rare, but I do continue to watch baseball in the post season. I love the game so just because my team doesn't make it to the series does it mean I stop watching baseball.
I'm not into baseball but I Love Victor's answer! I was just going to tell you to go for the underdog! TEXAS Rangers! Blessings from Riverside (Texas, of course!) :OD
Our youngest son got a Giants hat earlier this summer - wears it all the time now. Everyone knows who he is rooting for. I'm looking for a well played series - not looking that way after the game 2 drubbing the Giants put on the Rangers.
Good buddy of mine is a Red Sox fan. In our fantasy league he is referred to by his BoSux nickname quite often. I root for the Red Sox when they are playing the Yankees.

I'm not sure if the folks at Fenway would take kindly to your pet with the hat on. But, then again you never know?
I am a Philadelphia fan. I will not root for the Giants. I am definitely rooting for the Rangers. I doubt if it will make much of a difference.

Hi Todd... probably no surprise, but I am a Texas Rangers fan! BTW, very cute pic of Athena!
I'm rooting for the Texas Rangers to come back and take the Series !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And it is all over, way to short of a World Series, but I think after all the errors in the first game by the rangers, it was just hard for them to get their winning spirit back. Until baseball season comes back around, I guess I will just have to play catch with my kids and then when the season does start again.
GO SOXS!
