Freddie Mac Online Calculator Always Thinks Home Prices Go Up

By
Real Estate Agent with Atlanta Communities Real Estate Brokerage GREC #208281

Freddie Mac has a pretty nifty rent vs. buy online calculator.

The problem is that it only allows you to input a positive appreciation rate.  You can input aprreciation rates from zero all the way up to 100% but you can't  put in a negative  rate.

I guess they have high hopes and believe that house prices always go up.

That sounds very interesting.  Maybe they designed the calculator back in the days when appreciation was a given.  Maybe you should send a note to their web support and tell them about the problem that their calculator isn't working correctly.
