Committed or pretending?

Committed or pretending?Committed or pretending?

I look at the young ones in their costumes for Halloween and notice how excited and thrilled they are when emanating their favorite characters. No pretending required on their part!

That isn't a kid in a batman costume, that IS BATMAN! And the little girl in her glass slippers, twirling her glittery gown IS CINDERELLA! For that young boy, X-Men's WOLVERINE costume IS REAL

As an agent, it's imperative to:

  • Meet obligations
  • Be passionate about the industry
  • Keep up with the latest trends
  • Make those phone calls and returning them as well
  • Create new relationships while nurturing past clients

Sitting around, doing the bare minimum, just getting by until the market turns around is not a plan of action. We can learn from children by how easy it is for them to believe in themselves with no hesitation.

If a person is not truly committed to this industry, it may cause more harm than good. Just my observations and opinion.

What are your thoughts?

In many professions I believe there are a lot of people who are just "pretending".................and wondering why they aren't successful.

Part of being successful in this, or any industry is commitment. Without that, you're not only setting yourself up for failure, you're doing the same to your clients.

Thank you for that Roger, No pretending required, just a firm commitment!

So true Craig, Lack of commitment affects every area of life. I'd rather be committed than just a loose interpretation of something...

I agree to a point.  Commitment requires hard work and a sense of duty not only to yourself, but to your clients.  Sometimes you have to wait, weigh our options before putting foot forward and if that means sitting for a spell to see which way the wind blows maybe a good thing, no?

However, on the other hand, doing nothing is not an option.

Wanda, Great comparison.  It seems in this line of work that the amount of work you put in towards your list of imperatives, often is proportional to your returns.

Cal, Yes, a serious commitment is rewquired to be successful!

Tom, So true, otherwise, do something else.

Dee, Oh, we should all make our decisions carefully regarding direction at times but at the same time continue to move forward in our careers.

Gloria, Yes, hard work does pay back especially when much effort is applied!
