Working With A Realtor...II
In the my last post Working With A Realtor...How It Works I wanted to name of few misconceptions that the public had about working with Realtors. I received some really good comments and a couple of agents added more to the list that I promised to share in the follow up and final post.
Dave Minder added that sometimes a customer will ask an agent about a listing outside of the area that agent serves, sometimes way outside and they expect you to know all about it simply because it's listed by the same company brand. Folks, I hate to break it to you, but we as agents don't know every single property that's listed. I might also add that if you do call about a property you saw while out driving...try to at least give us an address instead of saying; well I was out driving...I don't remember where it was but it had your companies sign in the front yard...can you tell me about the property? Mr & Mrs consumer...we as agents are good at what we do, but we need a little more info than that.
Michael Setunsky also added another misconception that the listing agent doesn't get to keep that entire commission. It can be split up to four ways. I would also add that if that listing was a referral, that adds another split into the mix.
I want to thank everyone who responded to this and the last post. I know there must be other points to bring up, but I think some of the most important have been stated. Thanks again all!
