Imagine the biggest puzzle you have probably ever seen. Now imagine actually walking through that puzzle and trying to find your way out. It's an adventure that takes some teamwork and memory skills as well. Ready to give it a try? Then you have to visit Plasko's Farm in Trumbull CT and experience the Buzzing Bumblebee Corn Maze.
This is Plasko's Farm 10th Annual Corn Maze and is an event that draws thousands each year. The farm has become famous in Trumbull and all over CT for its 10 foot corn mazes on over 4 acres.
Children as well as adults delight in making it through the maze which has approximately 1½ miles of bewildering turns, twists, and the frustrating dead ends.
Think you might get lost? You're probably right on that. However, there are ‘corn cops' stationed at strategic points throughout the maze to help those who have taken the wrong turn or are caught in a continuous loop of getting nowhere fast.
The Buzzing Bumblebee corn maze at Plasko's Farm Trumbull is open Fridays from 3-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m until Halloween, October 31. It is conveniently located at 670 Daniels Farm Road, just up the hill from Hillcrest Middle School.
Admission to enter the corn maze is $7 for adults, $6 for children 13 and under, and children under 3 are free.
The Plasko family also gives back to the community by supporting a local charitable cause "Swim Across the Sound" which benefits cancer survivors and also promotes cancer educational programs and research. $1 of every maze admission is donated to the Swim Across the Sound in neighboring Bridgeport, CT.
While you're trying to find your way out the corn maze, you may get a whiff of Plasko's famous apple cider donuts -- voted one of the top five best tasting donuts in CT.
Take a break after you escape and be sure to visit Plasko's Country Store, bakery and indoor ice cream shop for some delectable treats.
