November kicks off the Winter Season at Reston Town Center in Reston, VA.
As it celebrates its 20th Anniversary, the Reston Town Center continues to be the community center for Reston, Virginia. There are always a lot of great activities at the RTC, but November is my favorite month to enjoy the Reston Town Center!
The November Calendar is packed full of great activities. Here are a couple that I would like to highlight:
November 1: The outside Ice Skating Pavillion opens! Public skating and skate rentals daily. Also available: private lessons, birthday parties, and reservations for private and corporate parties. For information, rates and schedules call 703.709.6300 or email skating@restontowncenter.com.

November 6: Home for the Holidays Super Pet Adoption, 11:00am - 4:00pm, Home 4 the Holidays Super Pet Adoption
November 14: Basic Bike Maintenance Class at The Bike Lane, 10:30am
November 23: Inova Blood Drive (monthly on the 4th Tuesday), 12-7:30 p.m.Inova Blood Drive
November 26 (Friday) is one of the biggest days of the year at Reston Town Center as the Holiday season kicks-off!
**Stores Open Early, 8 am!
**Run with Alan Webb, 8 am
Toddlers to teens are invited to run with local hero Alan Webb, Olympian and US record-holder for the fastest mile (3:46). Races divided by age. $5 donation. Registration information.
**20th Annual Reston Holiday Parade, 11 am
Watch Macy's-style balloons, marching bands, musical groups, dancers, antique cars, community groups, costume characters and more welcoming the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage. Special thanks to balloon sponsor Reston Community Center.
**Visits & Portraits with Santa, 12:30 - 4:30 pm
location tbd, Any donation for a 5 x 7 portrait - all proceeds benefit GoodDogz.org.
Those Funny Little People Performances
1 pm, 2:30 pm, 4 pm and 5:30 pm, in front of the Pavilion
Enjoy performances of songs and surprises by Elves Wally & Victor!
Holiday Tree Lighting & Sing Along, 6 pm
Watch as Santa and Mrs. Claus magically light up Reston Town Center and our holiday tree, then sing-along with the Reston Chorale and brass quintet.
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides around Reston Town Center, 6:30 - 10 pm
$5 per person, children 5 and under ride free. Pick up in front of Talbots on Market Street. All proceeds benefit Volunteer Fairfax!
