This morning as I got up in the pre dawn hours I could feel a little chill in the air. The temperature was 27 degrees this morning on my little bit of heaven north of Sallisaw. This time of year is my favorite time of year. Time to go hunting with my son who has the Deer bug bad. It is also time for cool nights and fall Football. Back in August it was miserably hot and it is not the same watching Football while you are sweating. My sons Football team is playing for the District Championship tonight and it is going to be cool and our boys will be ready to go. It is times like this that I relish small town life, enjoying the simple things like watching our boys play on Friday night. It is being able to take your boys hunting on your own piece of land and not having to worry about all the hunters on public lands. Its having a great church and church family that has and will support you in trying times.
Life in Sallisaw has its ups and downs but there are some great people here and I have come to find that there are some great Leaders in our community. Our unemployment is not the best or the worst but if you want to work you still can. This city, county and state is still the place were dreams can come true I am living proof of that. This is a beautiful place to live and lots of hunting and fishing and recreation in this county.
