Rock Shrimp Festival Saturday, October 6 St Marys Downtown Development Authority 400 Osborne St, When the weather turns cooler, then it's time for the Rock Shrimp Festival in historic St Marys , located just minutes east of Kingsland. This festival is held the first Saturday in October and is hosted by the Kiwanis Club. Found in Georgia's coastal waters, the rock shrimp looks almost like a tiny lobster and its taste is somewhere between shrimp and lobster. This festival honoring this coastal delicacy includes 5k/10k races, parade, entertainment thru-out the day, food concessions, arts & crafts booths and rock shrimp dinners.
