Wayzata holds its Halloween "Boo Blast" on October 30th, from Noon to 4 p.m. This will be a super kids event that should draw visitors from all over the Twin Cities!
"Boo Blast" begins with a Costume Contest at Wayzata Bay Center. And yes, adults are invited to participate also..contestants need to arrive about an hour early (around 11 am) in order to participate.
A visit to Creative Kidstuff allows you to create your own custom Trick-or-treat bag. And between 1 and 4, there will be trolley rides through town, connecting you with area merchants, trick-or-treat stops and special in-store activities.
You can download a "Spooky Schedule of Events" here, including a map of town with participating area merchants and trolley stops. The stopovers are referred to as "Pumpkin Stops" on the Events Map.
On Saturday evening, you'll want to head to the Bayview Event Center in nearby Excelsior, for the Sixth Annual Lake Minnetonka Monster Mash. The "Monster Mash" features Derek St. Holmes, formerly with the Ted Nugent Band. There'll be an "American Monster" costume contest, with over $2500 worth of prizes including a $1000 cash prize.
