On December 4, 2010, the city of Jasper, Georgia, will host their annual Night of Lights Christmas Celebration. The celebration includes a parade, kids area, craft and food vendors, and the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the courthouse lawn.
The Night of Lights Christmas Celebration has plenty for kids to do in the afternoon, with activities like decorating ornaments, face painting, games, an inflatable jumping house, and of course, Santa will be there, paying a visit. Santa (and Mrs. Clause) will be available for picture taking from 3 to 5 pm, and carolers and characters will be walking around. There will also be a live nativity scene and stage show for the whole family to enjoy.
The parade of lights starts at 6pm, which will be followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree, after the parade, with festivities continuing until around 9pm.
Night of Lights is just one of several activities sponsored by the Jasper Merchants Association to encourage visitors to enjoy what the downtown area has to offer, and hopefully this year will see as good a turn out as we had last year, if not better.
