A friend of ours from Alexandria, Ian Lowrie, who is a talented furniture maker himself, alerted us to the best Halloween pumpkins ever.  The work of sculptor Ray Villafane, these pumpkins are true works of art.  Villafane began carving pumpkins for his students in a small school district in Michigan - somewhat as a lark - but it has since catapulted him into a whole new career.
