STOP SMOKING were the words I was hearing almost every day.

I wish .. I would love to ... I'm working on it ... One day I will .... Why should I; I loved it ...

I was not a social smoker, not even close to social smoker. I was a heavy heavy smoker, probably 3 cigarettes before I finished my first cup of coffee. Everything had to be planed around the cigarette. Months before quiting, I was reading all sorts of forums on how to quit. Everything led me to do it cold turkey.

My wife was already an ex smoker and you would not believe, my family back in Europe does not smoke. They were all the biggest support. It helped that they were annoying and persistent. People on the street would give me that evil eye, like I was from another planet, that helped too.

Here is how I did it if I could be of motivation to anyone.

If you are a smoker and wish to quit Google "quit smoking cold turkey"; I did! Listening to the close ones and reading helps the most. When I decided that the time came, I took 3 days off. I was in bed all 3 days. I was the angriest man on the planet the first week. I stopped drinking coffee for a week or two and no alcohol for a month or more. Everything that I associated with a cigarette had to be hidden for a while. Every night I would remind myself: I made it today. In the morning I would say: " I'm not going to buy cigarettes and I'm going to make it till tomorrow.

I'm not looking to quit from blogging, social media, ActiveRain .... I'm not a quitter, but I can ;)

Now you know a bit more about me.

Need someone persistant to help with real estate. Feel free to  contact me.

Haris, congrats, I quit about 15+ years ago. Just like you I went from three packs of Malboro red to nothing, I joined a gym every evening worked out to exhaustion, relaxed in the Spa and went home.... passed out and did it over and over....I had wild dreams about lighting up a cigarett and would wake up TG it was just a dream...then after a year or two I could not stand the smell of it, near or around me...Good Luck and to your success!
