E-signing. Do you do it?

I deal with a lot of sellers that do not have access to a fax or scanner, but do to their short sale nature of their transaction... documents need signatures quickly.

Sometimes distance is also an issue... and with the price of gas as crazy as it is, traveling for a signature is not very cost efficient.

SOooo, I decided to look into an e-sign company.  I decided on EchoSign, after being hugely disappointed with the suggested company of the NAR.  (I seriously tried for 3 hours to upload a PDF.  At first I thought it was me... but on hour 3, I was ready to murder someone at tech support!)

After fumbling through the process for about 3 hours today, I think I finally have the hang of it.  I'm sure it will get easier and faster as I get used to the format.

Do you use an e-sign company for your transactions?  Why or why not?

Julie, I should do e-signing (considering the fact that I have to drive many miles for my clients and their places ..) and I still don't!

Did you try DocuSign? (Heard it's great!)

I use DocuSign, which might be the one to which you are referring.  I found it clumsy at first but have now gotten used to it.  I couldn't live without it.  It is a godsend.  And I think we may be getting it for free through our Board in January.

Jane and Praful, it was DocuSign that nearly had me in tears yesterday.  I find EchoSign much more user friendly.  For some reason the security encryption on my PDF's prevented me from uploading my documents into their system.

No one at tech support knew what I was talking about, (and I'm not very techy at all...) after waiting on hold to talk to them for 10 minutes.  I was not impressed with my free trial... but if my board included it, I might have spent a little more time trying to take advantage of it ;o)

Docusign is the best way to go for electronics signatures. I normally check with the lenders and escrow if they will accept these. It's perfect for people with email, and who are not in town.

No, I don't. I have thought about it, but never signed up. I guess this is something I will have to do eventually. Thank you for sharing your experience with Docusign and EchoSign.
