I love all those silly lists about really trivial stuff! Anyone else love reading all the silly surveys that people conduct about really off the wall stuff. Well yesterday, I came across this one that just made me laugh.
America's Happiest Cities! SERIOUSLY!!! How does one go about gauging what makes the residents of one city happier than another city?
Well apparently, a new study reveals the happiest metro areas in the U.S., ranking 187 cities on six categories: life evaluation, emotional health, work experience, physical behaviors and basic access (to food, shelter and health care).
The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, based on random phone interviews with more than 350,000 Americans, asked questions ranging from "Did you smile or laugh a lot yesterday?" to "Do you have a personal doctor?" SERIOUSLY???
Anyway, laughing always seems to make me a little happier so for what it's worth, coming across this survey and looking over the results made me a little happier. On that note, if the current economy or the political feuds or life in general has got you feeling down, you may want to consider moving to a happier place to live or at the least reading something that makes you laugh today.
So, which metro areas are the happiest in America? Well, for starters, seems CA is a pretty happy place with four of the top ten spots with my own Ventura county coming in at #10. Coming in at #6 is Santa Barbara county, which is right next to Ventura county.
