Are more homeowners facing foreclosure in San Luis Obispo (SLO) County?

Between September 15, 2010 and to date, data from local tax records shows a decline in the number of notices-of-defaults (NODs) received by homeowners in SLO County.

The lowest number of NODs are received by homeowners in the city of San Luis Obispo.  Homeowners in the North coastal towns between San Simeon and Los Osos, and Five-Cities area registered a noticeable drop of 12.33% and 41.24% respectively.

On the contrary, the NODs filed on homeowners in North County, namely Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles, Shandon, Santa Margarita and Creston, rose by 6.47% to 461 in a 35-day period.

As a whole, SLO County saw an overall decline of 18.34% which is encouraging news for homeowners in general and the community.

The above statistics reflect data culled from local tax records and foreclosure service from September 15, 2010 - October 19, 2010, and deemed accurate at time of report but not guaranteed.
